The Dong Nai City Party Committee (CPC)’s Executive Committee held its fifth meeting on October 2 to review the implementation of key tasks in the first 9 months of 2026 and discuss measures for the final months to achieve this year’s targets.

To meet the requirements of public governance reform and build a professional, integrity-based, effective, and efficient public administration, the policy of quarterly evaluation and classification of cadres in leadership positions is being implemented. The move aims to strengthen discipline and administrative order while improving the quality of public service delivery.

Grassroots approaches that bring the government closer to the people are creating tangible changes in the way the administration serves citizens, making it more professional and modern.

On October 2, the Dong Nai City Department of Science and Technology, in coordination with the Institute of Innovation at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, launched the Dong Nai Innovation Hub and put it into trial operation.

Following the merger of Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc provinces, many cadres, civil servants, and public employees were required to relocate for work but have yet to secure stable housing. For those previously based in Binh Phuoc who are now working in Dong Nai City, long commutes or the need to rent accommodation have increased living expenses, while their families and children remain in their original locations.

On October 2, Dong Nai Newspaper and Radio, Television (DNNRTV) and the Dong Nai City Study Promotion Association jointly organized the 15th “Supporting disadvantaged students to pursue their studies” program for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Resolution No. 16-NQ/TW, issued by the Politburo on July 21, 2026, on the construction and development of Dong Nai City through 2035, with a vision to 2065 (hereinafter referred to as Resolution No. 16), has opened up major opportunities for the city’s development.

Discussing Southern Viet Nam, Dr. Nguyen Thi Hau, General Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Historical Sciences, emphasized that the region comprises three basic ecological and cultural subregions. The first is Southeastern Viet Nam, characterized by red soil and ancient alluvium.

More than 80% of schools across Dong Nai City have so far organized health checkups for students as part of student healthcare activities at the start of the 2026–2027 school year, Director of the Dong Nai Department of Health Do Thi Nguyen said on September 26. The remaining schools are continuing to coordinate with qualified medical facilities to conduct the checkups, aiming to complete the work in October.

A severed forearm and a severed lower leg, both seemingly beyond saving, have been successfully reattached by doctors at Thong Nhat General Hospital and Long Khanh Regional General Hospital.

In the first eight months of 2026, Dong Nai recorded a sharp increase in both the number of health insurance-covered medical examinations and treatments and the costs proposed for payment compared with the same period last year.
