Attractive incentives to attract employees
Amid growing competition in the labor market, many enterprises in Dong Nai have proactively developed long-term policies to attract and retain employees from the outset. Along with adjusting wages, enterprises are focusing on providing additional allowances, improving the quality of shift meals, supporting housing costs, and increasing benefits for employees.
SMC Manufacturing (Vietnam) Co., Ltd., based at Long Duc Industrial Park in Binh Son Commune, regularly recruits workers. The company provides VND500,000 per person for housing and travel expenses, in addition to attendance bonuses, childcare subsidies, and performance bonuses twice a year.
Nguyen Thi Nhan, a human resources staff member at SMC Manufacturing (Vietnam) Co., Ltd., said that to meet production expansion needs, the company has recruited about 1,200 additional employees since the beginning of 2026 and expects to recruit another 700 workers from now until the end of the year, mainly unskilled workers. Alongside recruitment, the company is focusing on improving incomes to attract and retain employees. Workers currently receive a basic salary of about VND8.1 million per month, while their total income, including allowances, reaches about VND9.5 million per month.
"The company is continuing to expand its recruitment sources, particularly among workers from vocational schools whose training majors are suitable for machine operation tasks, to meet growing production demand. The enterprise pays attention to salary schemes, health insurance, accident insurance, and many other benefits. These practical policies help strengthen workers’ commitment, stabilize the workforce and enable the company to retain employees over the long term," said Nhan.
Kenda Rubber (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. in Ho Nai Ward currently needs to recruit about 500 unskilled workers and about 30 workshop staff. For these positions, the company does not place heavy emphasis on experience or qualifications. Employees only need to know how to read and write and will receive on-the-job training after being hired.
Vu Tram Phuong Uyen, Human Resources Manager at Kenda Rubber (Vietnam) Co., Ltd., said that to attract employees, the company has introduced a bonus policy of VND1-3 million for new hires or for employees who refer new workers to the company. This is also one of the policies applied by the company to expand recruitment sources and encourage employees to remain with the enterprise.
As the end of the year approaches, recruitment demand among enterprises is increasing, particularly in the manufacturing and processing sectors. The Dong Nai Employment Service Center is stepping up efforts to connect labor supply and demand through various forms, supporting enterprises in finding personnel. In 2026 alone, enterprises need to recruit about 183,000 workers. Amid increasingly evident competition for personnel, developing long-term salary and welfare policies will be a crucial factor in helping enterprises attract employees.

Employee benefits become a competitive factor
As enterprises continue recruiting workers to fulfill year-end orders, job seekers can easily find employment suited to their abilities. However, when presented with many employment options, employees consider not only how much enterprises pay but also the working environment, bonus schemes, allowances, meals, insurance, opportunities for income growth, and policies for their families. Incentive policies are therefore becoming one of the factors that enhance an enterprise's attractiveness to employees.
Pham Thi Kim Thu, a human resources staff member at Topband Smart Dong Nai (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. in Loc An - Binh Son Industrial Park, said that in early September 2026, the enterprise increased employees' total salaries by more than VND1 million per person. The enterprise is currently expanding production and needs to recruit more than 1,000 workers for various positions. The company offers bonuses ranging from VND1-2 million per person to employees who refer workers to the company and to newly-recruited workers.
According to Nguyen Minh Tam, Chairman of the Grassroots Trade Union of Pou Phong Vietnam Co., Ltd. in An Vien Commune, for an enterprise to attract and retain employees, providing jobs alone is not enough. It must also create a workplace where workers feel that their interests are looked after and that the company shares and understands their concerns. Behind every production line are not only workers who need jobs but also families that need stable incomes, a home and a source of support that gives them peace of mind to stay with the company.
Tam added that to better care for employees' lives, representatives of the company's leadership and the Trade Union visit, encourage, and support workers facing difficult circumstances every month. Under the theme "Journey of Happiness," each trip not only brings practical gifts but also conveys the care, solidarity and sense of responsibility shown by the company and the Trade Union toward employees. This is a meaningful approach adopted by the company and has been well received and welcomed by the workforce.
In reality, recruiting a worker is only the first step. To retain employees over the long term, enterprises need to build trust through specific and stable policies. Improving employee benefits is increasingly seen as part of enterprises’ human resources strategies. Enterprises do not recruit only when they face labor shortages but also seek ways to maintain a stable workforce and reduce personnel turnover.
