(ĐN)- In the evening of July 9, a scholarship ceremony was held by Dong Nai Radio and Television at the meeting-hall in the Province’s Square. 191 recipients who were pupils from minority ethnic groups in Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Binh Thuan and Dien Bien received scholarships entitled “Dieu Xien” with the value of VND 500,000 each. “Dieu Xien” was a revolutionary soldier in the resistance war against French colonialists from minority ethnic background of Chau Ro. Besides, every pupil was given more 20 notebooks. Especially, minority ethnic pupils from primary schools received additional school bags. This is annual program for offering scholarships to minority ethnic pupils. The target all around scholarship is granted to a graduating high school senior. In addition, the scholarship program offers funding for graduate degrees to those who can entry universities or colleges. During the past two years, “Dieu Xien scholarship” as organized by the Dong Nai Radio and Television has offered 261 scholarships with total amount of VND 130.5 million to 261 minority ethnic pupils from Chau Ma, K’Ho, Muong, Kh’mer, Thai, Dao, Nung etc.
