(ĐN)- June 30, Dinh Quan district held a meeting between good examples in patriotic emulation movement for the period 2000-2004. During the period, district authority of Dinh Quan has played an importance role in mobilizing people to promote activities that targeted to poverty alleviation. As a result, for much of the population, living standards have improved dramatically. Besides, culturally competent programs have also been launched throughout the district for encouraging people participation. The programs are significant in the local ever-changing cultural society. In the other hand, the district mobilized society’s contributions in order to build 705 houses with a total value of 3,822 million VND for poor people. Furthermore, 3315 poor families in the district were offered loans to value on amount of 5,500 million VND for developing home economics to raise their living standards. Accordingly, the number of low-income families decreased from 20 percent in 2000 to 5.94 percent by the end of 2004. Poverty alleviation programmes will continue to enhance through the district to aim to bring strong economy here. The economic structure is still based on development trend of agriculture, service and industry.
