Several major transport connectivity projects are currently underway in the city. These include an elevated road running along National Highway 51 from the Vung Tau intersection to the interchange connecting Vo Nguyen Giap Road with the Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway; the road connecting Ma Da Bridge, from Ba Hao intersection to Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4; projects connecting to Cat Lai Bridge and Long Hung Bridge; the project to upgrade and expand National Highway 56; and transport links with areas of Ho Chi Minh City that previously belonged to Binh Duong Province.
At the meeting, after hearing relevant departments, agencies and units report on implementation progress, outstanding difficulties and obstacles, and proposed solutions, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Ho Van Ha called on the relevant units to continue reviewing the projects. For the elevated road along National Highway 51, from the Vung Tau intersection to the interchange connecting Vo Nguyen Giap Road with the Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway, he requested that the compensation plan be urgently appraised and lawful funding sources for compensation be identified. The relevant units must also coordinate with surveying agencies to carry out the necessary compensation procedures, conduct surveys and compile lists of households eligible for resettlement. At the same time, they must work with local authorities to review and compile household lists, estimate the number of households requiring resettlement, and provide detailed reports on compensation plans, together with projected implementation schedules and milestones for the project.
Regarding the road connecting Ma Da Bridge, from Ba Hao intersection to Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 4, the Department of Construction and the City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board were asked to urge the consulting unit to review and update the project area. Based on feedback from relevant agencies, the design must be finalized to suit actual site conditions, ensuring traffic safety and protecting wildlife in the Dong Nai Culture and Nature Reserve, while also saving local budget funds.
For projects connecting areas formerly under Binh Duong Province, the Department of Construction and relevant units must coordinate with departments, agencies and local authorities in adjoining areas of Ho Chi Minh City to agree on implementation details. Regarding the roads connecting to Cat Lai Bridge and Long Hung Bridge, the relevant units must maintain regular communication with Ho Chi Minh City to synchronize project schedules and ensure that the connecting roads are completed in step with construction of the bridges.
