(ĐN)- During recent days, due to the affect of the tropical depression, there were heavy rains in many localities of Dong Nai province. The flood water in rivers of Dong Nai and La Nga quickly rose high.
Heavy downpours has made the river system in Tan Phu district rising with water level in the river in Ta Lai commune measuring 113.39m, 0.39m higher than the third warning level. Meanwhile, the water level in the Dac Lua ferry landing swelled to 134.4m. Incessant heavy rains have inundated over 200 houses in 3 communes of Dac Lua, Phu Lap and Phu Thinh. In addition, about 800 hectares of crops and many properties in Tan Phu district were destroyed with total losses estimated at billions of dong. The district’s authorities have evacuated local people out of low-lying and danger areas and prepare the necessary facilities and equipment to cope with floods.
In Dinh Quan district, the floods also submerged more than 60 houses and damaged over 700 hectares of crops.
Local authorities asked relevant agencies to intensify measures to minimize losses caused by the torrential rains.
