At the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Vo Van Mot asked local relevant agencies to provide help for enterprises in developing or expanding their export markets as well as to encourage them to develop high-tech products to meet the new market demands in order to prevent a further economic turndown.
(ĐN)- A meeting to review the four –year implementation plan from 2006 to 2010 was held in Dong Nai on September 9. At the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Vo Van Mot asked local relevant agencies to provide help for enterprises in developing or expanding their export markets as well as to encourage them to develop high-tech products to meet the new market demands in order to prevent a further economic turndown.
Mot also directed local relevant business sectors to develop effective programs in order to respond to the “Vietnamese proud of using Vietnamese goods” campaign launched by the Politburo in August. At the same time, he urged relevant agencies to find feasible solutions to accomplish all targets and tasks laid out in the province’s 2006-2010 socio-economic development plan.
According to Director of the Dong Nai Department of Investment and Planning Bo Ngoc Thu, between 2006 and 2009, Dong Nai’s average GDP growth rate is expected to be 13.3 per cent, higher than that achieved in 2001-2005 (12.8 per cent). Accordingly, industry and construction will increase 14.7 per cent/year, service sector 14.9 per cent/year and agriculture, forestry and fishing 4.9 per cent/year. However, the province will not be able to achieve GDP growth target set for the 2006 - 2010 period due to impacts of the global financial crisis.
