Under Resolution No. 10-NQ/TU of the Dong Nai City Party Committee’s Executive Committee, tourism is identified as one of the city’s five economic development pillars, with the goal of making it a major, integrated and high-quality sector focused on key areas that capitalize on Dong Nai’s distinctive strengths. To achieve this goal, the city’s tourism sector is working with investors to address obstacles and create a favorable investment environment.

Stepping up investment attraction for tourism development

To attract investors, Dong Nai is prioritizing state investment in tourism infrastructure in areas with strong development potential. Key priorities include transport links, inland waterway ports, telecommunications networks, and electricity and water supply systems serving major tourist destinations. These investments are expected to spur investment and make travel more convenient for residents and visitors. The city is also promoting digital tourism infrastructure and investing in the preservation, restoration and upgrading of historical and cultural relics and heritage sites.

Resolution No. 10 also calls on Dong Nai to create a favorable investment environment and reassess tourism plans from an economic perspective to attract organizations and individuals to invest and reinvest in tourism development. The city will prioritize investors with the capacity and experience to mobilize private-sector capital for major projects, including tourism complexes, hotels, restaurants, upscale commercial centers, and cultural and sports facilities linked to tourism in key areas.

Alongside efforts to attract new investors, Dong Nai is reviewing large-scale tourism projects to address outstanding obstacles and accelerate implementation so that they can be completed and put into operation promptly. This is expected to diversify tourism products and services, strengthen competitiveness and build the city’s tourism brand.

Dong Nai is encouraging greater private-sector involvement in funding and managing the protection and restoration of historical and cultural relics, as well as preserving and reviving traditional festivals, crafts and craft villages. These efforts aim to diversify tourism products and services. The city is also promoting public-private partnerships to mobilize resources from across society for tourism development.

Developing tourism hubs linked to Long Thanh Airport

To promote and expand the benefits and value of tourism, particularly historical and revolutionary heritage tourism and ecotourism, Dong Nai is mobilizing resources to develop key tourism areas in and around the Long Thanh Airport urban area, Chua Chan Mountain, Tri An Lake, Cat Tien National Park, Tan Phu Protection Forest, Ba Ra Mountain and Thac Mo Lake, as well as along the border.

Dong Nai is also strengthening links among local tourist destinations and developing tour routes and itineraries connecting different areas to better leverage their tourism potential and offer more diverse, integrated products. The city is expanding cooperation with businesses to capitalize on its tourism strengths, particularly in ecotourism and historical and revolutionary heritage tourism.

In 2026, Dong Nai listed 16 tourism projects for which it is seeking investors. The projects are located in areas with strong tourism potential. They include the Bau Nuoc Soi–Thac Mai Ecotourism Site Project, which proposes two ecotourism destinations

oriented toward nature-based tourism, resorts and recreational development in Tan Phu Protection Forest, and the Da Ton Lake Tourism Area Project, which covers 1,100 hectares in Tan Phu ward and Phu Lam commune.

The Tri An Lake area, which is designated for development as a national tourism area under the Government’s planning framework, is home to five projects seeking investors, with a combined area of nearly 2,600 hectares. They include a resort center in the Ba Hao area, the Ma Da Safari Park, tourism projects on islands in Tri An Lake, the Tri An tourist site and the Tri An Lake Ecotourism Area in Ma Da.
