Le Truong Son, Member of the City Party Committee (CPC)’s Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai People’s Committee, met with a delegation from the Consulate General of the Republic of Belarus in Ho Chi Minh City on October 8. The delegation was led by Consul General of Belarus in Ho Chi Minh City Alexander Sidoruk. Representatives of the city’s departments and agencies also attended the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, Consul General Alexander Sidoruk said, given the Belarus side’s strengths in industry, mechanical engineering and machinery manufacturing, the Consulate General hoped to serve as a bridge between businesses in the two countries and welcomed Dong Nai enterprises interested in exploring investment opportunities in Belarus. He also expressed his expectation that businesses from both sides would have more opportunities to connect, learn about each other’s capabilities and lay the groundwork for future cooperation.

Le Truong Son said Dong Nai was one of Viet Nam’s leading industrial centers, with more than 90 industrial parks, high-tech parks and border-gate economic zones spanning over 69,000 hectares. Investors from 51 countries and territories have more than 2,300 active foreign direct investment (FDI) projects in Dong Nai, with a combined registered capital of over US$46.7 billion.

With its strategic importance in politics, the economy, defense and security, Dong Nai is expanding and deepening its international relations. Beyond its economic strengths, the city also boasts a rich historical and cultural heritage, including a diverse range of tangible and intangible cultural assets. It has 119 nationally recognized historical and cultural relic sites and more than 400 types of festivals celebrated throughout the year.

Since establishing diplomatic relations in 1992, Viet Nam and Belarus have continued to strengthen their friendship and cooperation.
Vice Chairman Le Truong Son said Belarus had considerable expertise in manufacturing, mechanical engineering, machinery production, high-tech agriculture and workforce training. These sectors are of particular interest to Dong Nai. The city leader hoped the Consul General of Belarus in Ho Chi Minh City will continue to connect Dong Nai with potential partners and localities in Belarus, helping Belarusian businesses explore opportunities for cooperation and investment in the city.
