Many supermarkets and shopping centers in Dong Nai are launching large-scale consumer stimulus programs to attract foot traffic and boost shopping demand during the April 30 and May 1 holiday period. Among them are numerous stimulus programs dedicated to Vietnamese goods and local specialties.
Major consumer stimulus programs promote Vietnamese goods
According to Vu Thanh Tan, representative of the communications department of Central Retail Corporation (Vietnam) Joint Stock Company (Central Retail Vietnam), the operator of the GO! supermarket chain, in response to the vibrant atmosphere surrounding the April 30 and May 1 national holidays, GO! supermarkets nationwide, including GO! Dong Nai and GO! Tan Hiep, are implementing a large-scale promotional campaign under the theme “For Vietnam – Better Quality Every Day”, running continuously from April 23 to May 6. The program is designed to allow consumers to fully enjoy the festive shopping atmosphere through discounts of up to 50%, while also reaffirming commitments to product traceability from farm to table, thereby delivering fresh, high-quality products to consumers.

This year’s campaign highlights Vietnamese products from regions across the country, including Hanoi’s banh com (cakes made from green sticky rice), Quang Ninh province’s Van Don milk oysters; specialties from the central and Central Highlands regions such as Hue beef noodles, hydroponic lettuce, Da Lat carrots (Lam Dong province), pumpkin (Da Nang); and Southern specialties such as “pia” cake (Soc Trang province) and green-skinned pomelo (Ben Tre province).
Le Duc Thuan, Director of Lotte Mart Dong Nai (Long Binh ward), said the supermarket is intensifying a broad range of major promotional and discount programs for the April 30 and May 1 holidays, many of which focus specifically on Vietnamese goods across diverse product categories, including food, agricultural products, beverages, household goods, and fashion, with discounts reaching up to 50%.

According to Do Doan Thanh, Head of Marketing at Co.opmart Dong Xoai, the supermarket is launching a series of major holiday promotions, including campaigns under Saigon Co.op’s “30 Years of Vietnamese Brand” theme. These include programs such as “30th Anniversary Feast – Receive Shopping Vouchers Immediately,” “Spreading Happiness at 30,” exclusive online promotional pricing, and significant discounts on fresh food, processed food, household products, and private-label goods, with some discounts reaching 37%.
Nguyen Thi Bich Van, Communications Director of Central Retail Vietnam, noted that with a series of attractive offers and distinctive experiential activities, the “For Vietnam – Better Quality Every Day” program is not only an ideal shopping destination during the April 30 and May 1 holidays but also an opportunity for families to fully enjoy reunion, savings, and pride in Vietnamese products.
Strengthening service personnel
At the same time, representatives from many supermarkets and shopping centers across Dong Nai said they have proactively prepared sufficient goods to serve shoppers. In parallel, elaborate decorations and visually appealing displays featuring Vietnamese products have been arranged to attract visitors.
Given that this year’s major holiday period is relatively long and comes shortly after the Hung Kings’ Commemoration Day holiday, demand for shopping and travel is forecast to surge. In response, food service providers and goods retailers across Dong Nai have proactively bolstered staffing to serve customers, while introducing multiple online payment channels and new services to stimulate spending and make transactions more convenient.

Trang Phuc, representative of the Marketing Department at Co.opmart Bien Hoa (Tam Hiep ward), shared that the supermarket has significantly expanded major promotional campaigns during this period, including attractive offers celebrating Co.opmart’s 30th anniversary, running from the Hung Kings’ Commemoration Day holiday to the April 30 and May 1 holiday period. Purchasing power has already begun to rise in recent days, while this extended holiday is expected to boost consumer traffic and spending significantly.
Similarly, Le Duc Thuan, Lotte Mart Dong Nai Director, said that during the Hung Kings’ Commemoration Day holiday, customer traffic rose by approximately 30–40%. With shopping and entertainment demand expected to climb further during this major holiday period, the supermarket has proactively increased staffing, arranged sufficient checkout counters, and expanded cashless online payment options to meet customer needs while minimizing congestion during sudden surges in visitor numbers.
Vu Thanh Tan added that during this period, GO! is also organizing numerous experiential activities from 10 am to 10 pm daily, including “Surprise Low Prices,” “Happy Spin,” and “Sweet Soup Treats During Sweet Hours,” helping create a lively, joyful, and family-oriented shopping atmosphere. Particularly on weekends, from 8 am to 8 pm, the atmosphere is expected to become even more vibrant with activities such as GO!’s free breakfast program, the Vietnamese Baking Workshop, and the All-You-Can-Eat Buffet, offering consumers rich experiences not only in shopping but also in cuisine and entertainment.
Beyond traditional retail channels, many e-commerce platforms are likewise intensifying major promotional campaigns for Vietnamese goods during the upcoming April 30 and May 1 holidays, including regional specialties, fashion items, and household products.
