Traffic-safe school model should be expanded

Phan Chu Trinh Primary School in Tan Trieu Ward, Dong Nai City, has effectively implemented a “Traffic-safe school” model despite its large student population, location in a densely populated residential area and the narrow road in front of the school gate.

Pham Thi Ha, Principal of Phan Chu Trinh Primary School, said the school had produced video clips providing parents with detailed instructions on parking procedures as part of its efforts to ensure traffic safety and order. Instead of parking haphazardly on the road and obstructing traffic, the school has marked yellow parking spaces inside the school grounds. Parents can drive into the school grounds and park within the marked spaces to pick up their children safely and in an orderly manner. For parents picking up their children by car, the school has also provided guidance on parking in designated areas, particularly urging them to drive carefully and safely to prevent traffic incidents.

At dismissal time, students are trained to form orderly lines in their classrooms before moving to the designated areas where their parents are waiting. The school also reminds parents entering the school grounds to pick up their children to follow several rules, including dressing appropriately, maintaining order, refraining from pushing or jostling, and keeping the premises clean.

Thanks to strong parental support and close cooperation, traffic congestion and safety risks at the gate of Phan Chu Trinh Primary School have been fully resolved during student drop-off and pick-up periods.
