(ĐN)- In the past time, Thong Nhat ward’s women union made many efforts to help its members to overcome difficulties, stabilize production and improve living condition. Thanks to the supports from CEP Fund (Capital Aid Fund for Employment of the Poor), the provincial Social Policy Bank, Bank for Investment and Development, and SEARAC (Southeast Asia Resource Action Center), the union has so far provided loans worth more than VND2.1 billion to 894 members in order to help them develop production. Accordingly, many of them have become well-off; they are able to upgrade their houses, buy motorbikes and pay school fees for their children.
As known, the union provided not only capital but short vocational training courses to its members. However, there are still 16 poor member households presently; therefore, the union will strive to help these households escape poverty in 2009.
