(ĐN)- According to report from Tan Phu district People’s Committee, in 2008, the district has effectively implemented several projects to reduce poverty. Particularly, it provided loans worth more than VND23 billion for around 2,500 households to develop their production capabilities.

Particularly, it provided loans worth more than VND23 billion for around 2,500 households to develop their production capabilities. Accordingly, nearly 1,800 poor households have escaped poverty and others improved their living conditions in 2008.
Moreover, the district mobilized donations from local people to build great unity houses, award scholarships, and provide free check-ups and treatment to the poor, etc.
Thanks to efforts in the past time, the rate of poor households in Tan Phu district reduced from 16% in 2007 to approximately 11% in 2008.
