Dong Nai health sector’s efforts in boosting socialization of health activities

In 2008, although facing many difficulties, Dong Nai health sector made efforts to upgrade medical infrastructure and facilities in hospitals as well as develop a highly qualified medical human resources.

(ĐN)- In 2008, although facing many difficulties, Dong Nai health sector made efforts to upgrade medical infrastructure and facilities in hospitals as well as develop a highly qualified medical human resources.

Particularly, the sector mobilized VND130.9 billion to build new grassroots level health clinics, invest high-tech medical equipments to improve the quality of the medical treatment and health care for the people, upgrade hospitals and medical stations to meet the increasing demands of patients. Especially, Dong Nai General Hospital project with 1,400 beds was started construction on November, 2008. It is expected to ease the overload at hospitals in province and neighbor areas.

With a large need for well-trained medical staff, Dong Nai Health Department cooperated with Hue University Of Medicine And Pharmacy to provide training to health workers. Besides, the department drafted a project to provide allowance levels for medical employees so as to retain and attract skilled medical staff.

In the period of 2009-2011, Dong Nai will strive to attract more than 1,000 doctors, pharmacists and 3,000 nurses and midwives.
