(ĐN) - The district has provided humanitarian support to offer free eye surgery for local poor since 2000. Until now, the free program restored sight to 296 cataract blinds who were poor people. Particularly, hundreds or thousands of poor patients have been offered free eye exams, treatments and surgeries since the beginning of 2005. The district expects to reach its target of completing full humanitarian missions of blind eradication for the poor at the end of the third quarter of 2005.
