Reviewing matters related to promoting innovation

On September 23, Member of the Dong Nai City Party Committee’s Standing Board, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Le Truong Son chaired a working session with the Department of Science and Technology and several departments, agencies and units to review matters related to a report on adjusting the operating model of the Coordinating Council for the Innovative Startup Ecosystem; a proposal for developing the Dong Nai Innovation Hub platform; and the operation of the online technology and equipment exchange platform.

At the session, relevant agencies reviewed and discussed measures to consolidate the Coordinating Council for Dong Nai City’s innovation system and innovative startup ecosystem, as well as solutions to improve the effectiveness of the Dong Nai online technology and equipment exchange.

Regarding the Dong Nai Innovation Hub platform, the Department of Science and Technology, in coordination with the Institute for Innovation under the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, is reviewing, developing functions for and operating the platform on a pilot basis. In the coming period, the agencies operating the platform will continue to improve it and receive existing data from agencies and localities. Priority will be given to data on organizations and businesses, capability profiles, innovation needs, technology challenges, experts, solutions, policies, support programs and processing results.

Speaking at the session, Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai City People’s Committee Le Truong Son emphasized that the consolidation of the city’s Coordinating Council for the innovation system must comply with regulations. The review, adjustment and addition of council members should be appropriate to the relevant fields and agencies. The Department of Science and Technology was asked to review and supplement the council’s activities related to managing and operating shared digital platforms associated with the innovation system and innovative startup ecosystem.

Regarding the online technology and equipment exchange platform, relevant departments and agencies need to assess and review management and operating personnel, facilities, technical infrastructure, digital infrastructure and the application of advanced technologies, as well as databases and their level of connectivity and interoperability. Based on this assessment, they should propose measures and solutions to improve the exchange’s effectiveness, with a focus on connecting technology supply and demand.

Regarding the Dong Nai Innovation Hub platform, the leader of the municipal People’s Committee asked relevant departments, agencies and units to review progress and ensure all necessary requirements are met to prepare for the launch of the digital platform. They were also asked to ensure an effective roadmap and plan for piloting, implementing and further developing the platform after its launch, in compliance with relevant requirements and regulations.
