Lac Hong University inaugurates STEAMHub technology library

On September 19, Lac Hong University held an inauguration ceremony for the STEAMHub technology library at the university's Campus 6 in Tran Bien Ward. Attending the ceremony was Member of the City Party Committee and Director of the Dong Nai Department of Science and Technology Pham Van Trinh.

The facility is an open, modern and experiential STEAM education space developed through cooperation among Lac Hong University, STEAM for Vietnam, and On Semiconductor Vietnam Co., Ltd. Covering 124 square meters and with a total investment of approximately VND1.1 billion, STEAMHub is equipped with facilities for hands-on activities and exploration in science and technology. It can accommodate about 40 visitors and participants at a time.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lam Thanh Hien, Rector of Lac Hong University, said the facility is not only a space for learning, hands-on activities and STEAM applications at the university, but is also intended to inspire students and pupils in the city and neighboring areas to pursue self-directed learning, creative thinking and problem-solving. The STEAMHub technology library will also help connect and develop the university’s training programs in technology, robotics and innovation in the coming period.

Speaking at the ceremony, Member of the City Party Committee and Director of the Dong Nai Department of Science and Technology Pham Van Trinh emphasized that, as Dong Nai has been stepping up the development of science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation, the establishment of STEAMHub carries highly practical significance. It provides a foundation for nurturing a passion for science from the school years and developing human resources capable of meeting future development needs. The Dong Nai Department of Science and Technology will continue to accompany and facilitate the initiative through appropriate mechanisms and policies to strengthen connections between the university and businesses, while encouraging the replication of this effective model.
