Culture is not confined to what is preserved in museums and historical relic sites, recreated on stage or showcased at festivals. It is also present in everyday life, reflected in the thoughts and conduct of each individual. This is what gives cultural values their lasting vitality, turning them into an endogenous resource and a source of the nation’s “soft power.”

Against this backdrop, Dong Nai City Culture - Great Unity Week 2026 is more than a series of cultural and artistic activities. It is also an opportunity to rekindle love for one’s homeland, strengthen solidarity and promote the cultural values that define the identity of Dong Nai. The event is taking place as the city enters a new stage of development, with strategic orientations placing increasingly high demands on the building and promotion of Dong Nai’s cultural heritage and human values.

Resolution No. 80-NQ/TW, dated January 7, 2026, issued by the Politburo on the development of Vietnamese culture, emphasizes a guiding principle: “Cultural and human development constitute the foundation, an important endogenous resource, a powerful driving force, a pillar and a regulatory mechanism for the country’s rapid and sustainable development.” In particular, cultural values must be closely and harmoniously integrated into every aspect of social life, becoming a genuine source of soft power in the new era.

Meanwhile, Politburo’s Resolution No. 16-NQ/TW, dated July 21, 2026, on building and developing Dong Nai City through 2035, with a vision to 2065, sets out the goal of making the city “civilized, modern and happy.” It places people at the center, as the subject, resource, goal and beneficiaries of development. Cultural values, environmental protection, better health and improvements in the material and spiritual well-being of residents are identified as pillars of sustainable development.

The organization of the Culture - Great Unity Week 2026 is a practical step by Dong Nai toward translating these resolutions into action. It demonstrates the city’s proactive, dynamic and creative approach to making culture an important component of its development strategy.

Dong Nai is a land rich in cultural values. Generations of exploration, settlement, exchange and coexistence have shaped a cultural landscape that is not only diverse but also distinctive. The Culture - Great Unity Week should therefore feature a wide range of activities, diverse formats and compelling highlights to attract people from all walks of life. This will help residents recognize and gain a deeper understanding of the cultural identity of Dong Nai. Alongside large-scale programs, activities in residential communities, schools and grassroots cultural institutions should also be promoted, bringing cultural values closer to people from all backgrounds and age groups.

Dong Nai City Culture - Great Unity Week 2026 should also leave a deep emotional impression and lasting memories, inspiring a sense of pride among residents. That pride, in turn, needs to be nurtured, shared and transformed into a commitment to preserving and passing on cultural values within communities, families and among individuals. After all, cultural identity cannot remain vibrant only during festivals, shine on stage or be displayed in exhibition spaces. It must also be part of everyday life in every home. In this way, culture can become a source of soft power, an important endogenous resource and a pillar supporting the city’s sustainable development.
