On September 15, Nguyen Van Ut, Deputy Secretary of the Dong Nai City Party Committee (CPC) and Chairman of the City People's Committee, chaired a dialogue with young people under the theme “Youth of the young city of Dong Nai: Pioneering, innovative and action-oriented for a modern, civilized urban area.”

The event was attended by Nguyen Thi Hoang, Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee; Le Thi Thai, Deputy Head of the CPC’s Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilisation; Nguyen Huu Dinh, Director of the Department of Home Affairs; Le Thi Ngoc Loan, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; and Nguyen Minh Kien, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai City and Secretary of the Dong Nai Youth Union. Also attending were leaders of municipal departments, agencies and mass organizations, representatives of universities and colleges, and more than 130 outstanding youth union officials, members and young people from across the city.

In his opening remarks, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Ut stressed that the annual dialogue between the City People's Committee Chairman and young people provides an opportunity for city leaders and youth union members and young people to meet, exchange views and share information. Through the dialogue, city leaders provide guidance and information to help the younger generation better understand the city's vision for sustainable development, thereby encouraging youth union members and young people to turn their aspirations into practical action and contribute to the city's development. At the same time, the city leaders encouraged youth union members and young people to raise questions about issues of concern to Dong Nai's younger generation and propose solutions to enable them to play a greater role in the city's development.

At the event, Secretary of the Dong Nai Youth Union Nguyen Minh Kien gave an overview of the situation of young people in the city, the needs of different groups of young people, and issues currently facing them, including employment and the young workforce; science and technology and digital transformation; the lives and livelihoods of young workers; entrepreneurship and the development of the private economic sector; quality of life; and young people's access to opportunities.

Representatives of youth union officials, members and young people attending the dialogue raised questions about mechanisms, policies and solutions to help young people effectively access and apply artificial intelligence (AI), digital data and new technologies; build an innovation ecosystem for youth union members and young people; support scientific research; and promote youth entrepreneurship.

Young participants also raised issues concerning stronger links between educational institutions and businesses, more effective career guidance, workforce demand forecasting, and the development of creative experiential models in schools. Other issues included comprehensive healthcare for young people, more effective use of cultural institutions, and the creation of a healthy digital cultural environment.
Many participants also sought solutions to effectively implement the Youth Development Strategy and promote the role of the Youth Union in implementing digital initiatives, while creating opportunities for youth union members and young people to participate in building a digital government, digital economy and digital society.

The city leadership, representatives of municipal departments and agencies, and the City Youth Union responded to and clarified the questions and recommendations raised by youth union officials, members and young people at the dialogue.
Speaking at the event, Chairman Nguyen Van Ut noted that many of the issues raised by youth union officials, members and young people were related to major resolutions and policies of the Party Central Committee. Dong Nai City has translated these orientations into specific programs, plans, mechanisms and policies. He called on the city's youth to boldly propose and implement specific projects, initiatives and products, particularly in innovation, digital transformation and entrepreneurship.

Dong Nai is moving toward the development of high-tech industries, trade and services, logistics and modern urban areas. Chairman Nguyen Van Ut therefore urged young people to proactively equip themselves with knowledge, skills, foreign-language proficiency and technological expertise; seize emerging opportunities; and uphold a pioneering spirit, with the courage to think boldly and act decisively. He called on young people to contribute to building Dong Nai into a modern, civilized, friendly, compassionate and livable city. Based on the recommendations raised by youth union officials, members and young people, the city leadership and relevant departments and agencies will continue to review and refine appropriate mechanisms and policies to create favorable conditions for the development of the city's younger generation.
