Dong Nai honours war invalids, martyrs

Standing Deputy Secretary of Dong Nai provincial Party Committee Le Hong Phuong, Chairwoman of the provincial Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Thi Kim Lien, Head of the Mass Mobilisation Department Bui Ngoc Thanh and representatives attended incense-offering ceremony and candle-lighting ceremony at the province’s martyrs cemetery on July 26 to commemorate the heroes and martyrs who sacrificed their lives for national independence.

On this occasion, more than VND8 billion in funds was given to 16,300 people who had contributed to the national revolution.

Tan Phu district’s war veterans and their families received free medical check-ups, medicines and gifts. A charity house was also handed out to a family of war veteran in the district.

Central Psychiatric Hospital 2 offered free check-ups and medicines to 350 war invalids, policy families and the poor in Binh Da ward, Bien Hoa city. Meanwhile, Dong Nai Branch of Agribank and Dong Nai Food Industry Corporation (Dofico) presented 450 gifts to beneficiaries.

Another 400 people in Tan Phu district have been given free check-ups and medicine by doctors and nurses from 7B Hospital. The delegation also met and gave presents to family members of war martyrs, veterans and ethnic minority people living in the district.

Also on this occasion, Dofico offered 154 gifts to policy families in Bien Hoa city’s Binh Da and Trung Dung wards. Besides, the corporation sent delegations to meet and present gifts to Vietnamese heroic mothers in Hiep Hoa and Long Phuoc communes.

In Thong Nhat district, the representatives visited and presented more than 1,000 gifts to heroic mothers, families of war martyrs and invalids, revolutionary contributors living in the district.

The Infantry Officers’ Training College No 2 and Dong Nai Tuberculosis and Lung Disease Hospital also sent delegations to visit and present gifts to policy families, provide health care to the beneficiaries.
