(ĐN)- Bien Hoa city’s Red Cross Association has just held a meeting to review the five-year patriotic emulation movement in 2005-2010 period.
Over the past five years, the association raised nearly VND40 billion in goods and cash, an increase of 280 percent compared to the previous period.
Accordingly, the association helped more than 30,000 poor and disabled people, built and repaired 236 charity houses, presented over 3,000 scholarships to studious poor children.
The association also cooperated with related agencies to provide free medical check-ups and medicines to more than 150,000 poor patients, mobilize over 9,000 local young people to participate in blood donation.
