(ĐN) – On March 18, at Bien Hoa city’s Party Committee, a ceremony was held in response to the 12th National Week for Labor Safety and Hygiene, and Fire and Explosion Prevention and Fighting.
In 2009, about 1,016 workplace accidents occurred in Dong Nai province, killing 30 workers and injuring 1,181 others. Last year also saw 44 fires, leaving 2 dead and causing an estimated loss of VND92 billion. At the ceremony, the leaders the necessity of timely solutions to reduce work-related accidents and occupational diseases. Major tasks for this year include organizing training courses on fire and explosion prevention, promoting information dissemination and encouraging ideas to improve working environment.
At the ceremony, 17 collectives and 8 individuals was awarded certificates of merit of the provincial People’s Committee for their achievements in works of labour safety and hygiene, and fire and explosion prevention.
