Dinh Quan district marks 35th liberation anniversary

(ĐN)- Dinh Quan district held a meeting on Mar. 17 to celebrate the 35th anniversary of its liberation. The celebration saw the participation of Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Vo Van Mot, the heroic mothers, the heroes of the people’s armed forces, veterans and people in the district.

Speaking at the celebration ceremony, Chairwoman of Dinh Quan district’s People Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh Yen highlighted the significance of the victory 35 years ago.

Dinh Quan district’s economy mainly depended on agricultural cultivation 35 years ago. The district has over the past 35 years obtained important and comprehensive achievements in socio-economic development. The average per capita income reached VND 13 million in 2009. So far, 96 percent of the districts families have access to the national electricity grid, and 95 percent to safe water. At present, 13 out of 14 communes in the district have met the national standard on secondary education universalisation. 100 per cent of communes and wards in the district have health clinics that meet national standards and 9 out of 13 communes have doctors.

Attendants at the ceremony had an exchange talk with veterans who participated in the liberation of Dinh Quan district. On this occasion, the Party Committee and the Peoples Committee of Dinh Quan presented gifts to the heroic mothers.
