Heavy rains and strong winds cause heavy damage in localities

(ĐN)- During the month of July, 2009, many parts of Dong Nai province suffered heavy rains and flooding, leaving 4 people injured and billions of dongs in economic losses, the Provincial Committee for Storm and Flood Control reported. Statistics released by districts of Long Thanh, Cam My and Tan Phu stated that 106 houses destroyed and 60ha of crops were flooded. Total damage was estimated to run up 2 billion dongs. Especially, prolonged heavy rains have also caused flooding in Loc An commune of Long Thanh district. Heavy rains and strong winds were also responsible for 67 collapsed or damaged houses, and 50 ha of crops waterlogged in Tan Phu district.
