(ĐN)- A meeting has just been held in Dong Nai to review the cooperation programmes between the provincial Military Steering Committee and the provincial Women’s Union during the period 2003-2008. During the past five years, the provincial Military Steering Committee has worked in close cooperation with the provincial Women’s Union to encourage their female members to actively take part in humanitarian activities, patriotic movements and socio-economic programmes. In the reviewed period, both units organized practical activities to help their felame members to develop family economy and alleviate the poverty through increasing family incomes. Accordingly, they mobilized VND230 billion to provide supports to 90,000 members, donated nearly VND4 billion to policy beneficiaries and provided free and provided medical free check-ups and medicine to 10,600 poor people in the province.
