(ĐN)- At the meeting with the provincial leaders on Wednesday, representatives of the Construction Consultancy Unit and leaders of the Sai Gon Port Company Limited presented a proposal for location of ICD port that would be in Tam An commune, Long Thanh Thanh district, Dong Nai province. This location is convenient to many of the industrial parks situated in the province and easy transportation access by river and road, representatives of the Construction Consultancy Unit said. However, a number of projects are under construction in Tam An commune and some of the proposed future projects will be built in this area. The provincial leaders said that the new port should be constructed in another area.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Tran Van Vinh said that development of port clusters is a strategic objective of the provincial government. The Provincial People’s Committee will assign relevant agencies to help the
