International Women’s Day and Two Trung Sisters’ Uprising marked

(ĐN)- A ceremony was held in the province’s Sport-Culture Complex to mark the 99th anniversary of International Women’s Day (March 8) and the 1969th anniversary of the Two Trung Sisters’ Uprising.

(ĐN)- A ceremony was held in the province’s Sport-Culture Complex to mark the 99th anniversary of International Women’s Day (March 8) and the 1969th anniversary of the Two Trung Sisters’ Uprising. Attending the ceremony was Chairwoman of the provincial Front Fatherland Committee Nguyen Thi Kim Lien, Head of the Mass Mobilisation Department Bui Ngoc Thanh, Head of Dong Nai provincial Department of Propaganda and Training Huynh Van Toi, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and representatives.

 

At the ceremony, Chairwoman of Dong Nai provincial Women’s Union Dao Nguyen briefly reported the activities of the union in the last year. Accordingly, around VND230 billion was mobilized to offer loans to 85,000 poor women, help them out of poverty, develop production and improve their living conditions. Besides, the unions at grassroots levels provided stable jobs for more than 7,000 women, built 61 charity houses worth over VND700 million, awarded 2,300 scholarships valued at VND1.1 billion, etc.      

 

On this occasion, the Union conferred the Merit Medal “For the Development of Women” to outstanding women officials.
