(ĐN)- Taiwan’s Chinfon Group and Sanyang Industry Company on March 14 held a ground-breaking ceremony to build an auto-manufacturing plant in Nhon Trach II Industrial Park.
The US$70 million plant is expected to put into operation by the end of this year. The new facility will produce light trucks under 3.5 tones and cars of 6-9 seats.
After 15 years of operation in Vietnam, Vietnam Manufacturing and Export Processing Ltd. (VMEP) under Taiwan’s Sanyang Group has produced and sold nearly 1.5 million SYM motorbikes, and Attila of SYM has become one of the most popular brands in the market. Knowing that VMEP built a Motorbike Research and Development Centre in Ho Nai Industrial Zone with invested capital of US$15 million in 2006.
