(ĐN)- To prepare for the 11th session of the 11th National Assembly which will open on March 20, former Deputy Prime Minister Vu Khoan last week visited An Phuoc commune, Long Thanh district, Dong Nai province to hear voters’ concerns.
Many voters complained about corruption, environmental pollution, land management and compensation and so on. At the meeting, representatives of the local authorities answered questions and comments raised by the commune’s voters.
During the speech at the meeting with the commune’s voters, Mr. Vu Khoan asked the local government to pay more attention to public concerns, especially, to give high priority to environmental protection and land clearance and resettlement and the payment of compensation.
In two days, March 8-9, NA deputies from Dong Nai also held meetings with voters in Phu Son commune in Tan Phu district, Quang Trung commune in Thong Nhat district, Tay Hoa, Dong Hoa and Trung Hoa communes in Trang Bom district.
Some voter petitions said more attention should be given to promoting the development of industrial zones in mountainous areas and poor rural areas of Dong Nai. The voters asked the local government should attach special importance to improve irrigation systems in rural areas to help farmers get out of poverty.
At the meeting, the voters urged the NA to continue to further improve its supervisory role in anti-corruption work and discipline-related issues in order to gain people’s trust.
Voters also voiced their hope that the provincial Fatherland Front will select and introduce talented and virtuous candidates from provincial organizations and agencies to the NA.
