More 2.5 billion VND invested in Rural Clean Water and Environmental Sanitation Programme

(ĐN)- In the first half of 2005, Rural Clean Water and Environmental Sanitation (RCWES) Centre put in use of 105 hand drilled wells that made up 70% of year target. To improve the quality of rural environment and reduce the emission, livestock wastes have been collected and utilized as fuel source to deliver sustainable biogas energy. Accordingly, the center helped farmers building 400 biogas tanks which accounted for 65.4% year target. Besides, the geological survey water supply of 8 drilled wells was also deployed in the following places namely Cam My, Thong Nhat, Long Thanh districts and Long Khanh town. The concentrated water supply system of Song Thao commune with its value of VND 1.16 billion VND and another one of Nhan Nghia commune of 1.786 billion VND were handed over to the local authorities.

The total investment of Clean Water and Environmental Sanitation Programme in first half of the year was 4.865 billion VND. The programme was funded by Provincial Budget with an amount of 2.507 billion VND and State Budget of 2.011 billion VND. In addition, the local mobilized capital contributed 346.5 million VND.
