In the third quarter of 2026, Dong Nai’s GRDP grew 10.21% year on year, ranking 15th among the country’s 34 provinces and cities. For the first nine months, GRDP growth reached 10.01%, ranking 12th nationwide. The results underscored the city’s efforts to achieve its 11% economic growth target for 2026. State budget revenue in the first nine months reached VND78.246 trillion, equivalent to 78% of the budget estimates assigned by the Prime Minister (PM) and the City People’s Council, and 52% of the city’s target of VND150 trillion.

The city continued to prioritize public investment disbursement. By the end of September, cumulative disbursement had reached 68.7% of the capital plan assigned by the PM and 71.9% of the plan set by the city. Efforts have focused on resolving difficulties and obstacles and speeding up project implementation, particularly key transport works, inter-regional connectivity projects and projects with strong spillover effects.

Despite these results, the city still faces a number of difficulties and shortcomings, including slow public investment disbursement in some sectors and localities and shortcomings in the formulation, appraisal and approval of urban and rural planning.

At the conference, representatives of departments, agencies and localities presented issues related to their performance over the past nine months and proposed solutions for the final months of the year to achieve the 11% economic growth target. Key areas of focus include public investment disbursement and state budget revenue; resolving problems related to land and compensation, support and resettlement; and ensuring adequate supplies of construction materials for key projects. Other measures included improving the investment and business environment, addressing difficulties facing businesses, and ensuring social welfare were also discussed.

In his concluding remarks, Chairman Nguyen Van Ut asked departments, agencies and localities to focus on implementing measures to boost socio-economic growth.

According to the city leader, with only a few months remaining in the year, the city is entering a critical period for key tasks, from boosting economic growth and accelerating public investment disbursement to resolving difficulties facing businesses, completing planning, developing infrastructure, and ensuring social welfare and public safety. He called on agencies and localities to take full responsibility for their assigned tasks and deliver measurable results, with progress quantified by specific figures. They were also required to closely coordinate with relevant specialized agencies assigned by the city to carry out specific tasks.
