Dong Nai: Major projects near completion of site clearance

Site clearance for several major projects in Dong Nai is entering its final stage, with full handover of cleared land expected to be completed soon for construction.

About 98% of the project site for the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh Expressway project through Dong Nai has been handed over.

Completing the handover of all cleared land is an important prerequisite for accelerating construction and putting the projects into operation as soon as possible.

Site clearance for expressways nears completion

Recently, the Phu Lam Commune People’s Committee has continuously organized delegations to visit households in the area affected by the Dau Giay - Tan Phu Expressway project section through the commune to explain policies and encourage residents to hand over land for project construction. The working delegations, comprising local leaders and officials from specialized departments, have met directly with households to disseminate relevant policies and encourage them to hand over their land for the project construction.

According to Chairman of the Phu Lam Commune People’s Committee Pham Thanh Hai, the Dau Giay - Tan Phu Expressway section through the commune is nearly 11 kilometers long. More than 54 hectares of land must be acquired for the project. As of early September 2026, Phu Lam Commune had handed over nearly 41 hectares of cleared land, or nearly 75% of the required site. For the remaining cases, the locality is continuing dissemination and mobilization efforts to build consensus among residents and complete the handover of the entire project site as soon as possible.

The Dau Giay - Tan Phu Expressway runs entirely through Dong Nai, passing through eight communes and wards. According to the city’s Land Fund Development Center, as of early September 2026, Dong Nai had completed the handover of more than 95% of the total area of more than 390 hectares required for the project.

Meanwhile, for the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh Expressway project, Dong Nai has completed the handover of about 98% of the more than 84 hectares required to build the approximately 6.6-kilometer section passing through the city. The city’s Traffic Construction Project Management Board is coordinating with relevant agencies, the Nha Bich Commune People’s Committee and the Chon Thanh Ward People’s Committee to complete compensation and support work, while encouraging affected households to receive compensation and hand over the remaining site area in September 2026.

In addition to the two above-mentioned projects, Dong Nai has also been carrying out site clearance for the Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh Expressway and the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway expansion projects. To date, site handover rates for these two projects have reached 91-97%.

Site clearance for four airport-connecting routes nears completion

In 2026, Dong Nai City launched construction of Component Project 1-2 of Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 4, as well as routes 769, 773 and 770B. These projects are important to completing an integrated infrastructure network and connecting localities across Dong Nai City with Long Thanh International Airport.

According to the city’s Land Fund Development Center, site handover rates for the four projects currently range from more than 52% to more than 74%. Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 4 has the highest rate, with more than 74% of the required site already handed over.

Director of the city’s Land Fund Development Center Nguyen Cao Tai said approval rates for compensation plans for the projects have reached more than 80%.

To ensure that site handover for these projects is completed in September 2026, the city’s Land Fund Development Center and its branches will proactively coordinate closely with Party committees and People’s Committees of communes and wards to complete approval of compensation plans and issue land recovery decisions for the remaining cases. Working groups will also be established to regularly step up mobilization, dissemination and dialogue with households whose land is being acquired for the projects, thereby building public consensus.

As a locality traversed by Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 4 project and the Route 769 upgrade and expansion project, Binh An Commune is accelerating efforts to complete compensation and site clearance. Chairman of the Binh An Commune People’s Committee Duong Van Nhan said the locality aims to hand over the entire site for both projects in September 2026.

Regarding site clearance for the projects, Deputy Secretary of the Dong Nai City Party Committee Vo Tan Duc has asked the city’s Land Fund Development Center and relevant localities and agencies to focus on site clearance for major projects, particularly transport routes connecting to Long Thanh Airport. Each project must have a specific monthly schedule for each area and each outstanding case so that issues can be addressed in a timely manner.
