In Dong Nai, where household businesses account for more than 80% of all taxpayers, the application is attracting growing interest among taxpayers while being used more for tax-related administrative procedures.
More user-friendly features
According to the department, the new version of eTax Mobile features a more intuitive and user-friendly interface. Users can now easily access key information, including whether they are subject to a temporary exit ban, their tax obligations, personal income tax on salaries and wages, non-agricultural land use tax, and registered business establishments. These features allow users to monitor the status of their tax obligations more easily through a simplified navigation system. Notably, the upgraded application now integrates an AI-powered virtual assistant to provide instant guidance and support for taxpayers.
Tran Thuy Phuong, an accountant at a garment company in Tan Trieu ward, said she had updated the app and tried several of its new features. She found the upgraded version easy to navigate and user-friendly, particularly the AI-powered virtual assistant, which generated responses quickly. However, she said the virtual assistant could be further improved to operate more smoothly and better meet taxpayers' needs.
In addition to existing tax inquiry functions, the upgraded application introduces a new feature that allows users to look up non-agricultural land use tax information. The function enables taxpayers to monitor their non-agricultural land-use tax liabilities, payment status, and other property-related tax information, helping reduce overdue payments due to insufficient information.
Truong Hoang, a resident of Tran Bien ward, said his family had recently been required to settle outstanding non-agricultural land use tax liabilities, including late-payment charges accumulated over several years, even though the property had previously belonged to another owner. The upgraded application would help him monitor and pay non-agricultural land use tax more proactively, giving him greater peace of mind.
Improving taxpayer services
One of the key highlights emphasized by the department when announcing the successful upgrade of the eTax Mobile electronic tax application is the integration of an AI-powered virtual assistant, helping improve the quality of services provided to taxpayers.
The upgraded application features an intuitive interface that allows users to communicate in natural language and receive instant information on tax debts, tax enforcement measures, temporary exit bans, and other tax-related matters. The AI assistant can also guide individual business operators through the tax declaration process, helping simplify procedures, reduce errors, and improve the overall user experience.
According to the department, the launch of the upgraded eTax Mobile application represents more than a technical enhancement. It reflects the agency's commitment to continuously improving digital tax services by placing taxpayers at the center, while promoting greater transparency, accessibility, and user-friendliness in tax administration.
The upgraded application also marks an important step towards building a modern digital tax ecosystem, contributing to Vietnam's national digital transformation strategy and to the development of a digital finance system and digital government that better serve both citizens and businesses.
Nguyen Toan Thang, Head of the Dong Nai Tax Department, said tax authorities are stepping up efforts to help taxpayers make full use of the eTax Mobile application to complete tax registration, declaration, payment, and refund procedures entirely through electronic channels.
