Press serves as a "bridge" between government and businesses

Dong Nai City currently hosts nearly 100,000 enterprises operating across various sectors. Among them are nearly 2,300 Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) enterprises from 51 countries and territories.

Consequently, the press serves as a vital information channel and bridge, bringing the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies and laws closer to businesses, while concurrently capturing their concerns and aspirations.

Since the issuance of Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW by the Politburo in May 2025 on private-sector economic development (Resolution 68), the press has further intensified its efforts to innovate and improve the quality and effectiveness of information and communication work. Media organizations have actively promoted successful business models and outstanding enterprises, helping foster an entrepreneurial spirit throughout society.

Resolution 68 is viewed as an institutional breakthrough designed to lay the foundation for driving the growth of the private economic sector. To promote the spirit of Resolution 68, press agencies have become a bridge connecting businesses with local authorities through information and communication activities. The press has promptly reflected the difficulties and bottlenecks faced by enterprises, while actively disseminating the guidelines and policies of the Party and State to ensure that businesses operate their production and commerce in full compliance with the law.

Sharing his views on the role of the press on the occasion of the 101st anniversary of Vietnam’s Revolutionary Press Day, Khuat Quang Hung, Deputy General Director in charge of External Affairs and Communications at Nestlé Vietnam Limited, located in Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Park, emphasized that journalism is not only a source of official information but also contributes to shaping transparent information flows, promoting positive values and strengthening public trust. “In a rapidly changing socio-economic environment, the press continues to affirm its role as a trusted bridge between government, businesses and citizens. It promotes constructive dialogue, facilitates sustainable development initiatives and enhances local competitiveness,” Hung said. He expressed confidence that, with its strong foundation and spirit of innovation, the press in general, and Dong Nai Newspaper and Radio, Television in particular, would continue upholding the core values of revolutionary journalism while strengthening engagement with the business community during the city’s next phase of development.

Beyond serving as a bridge between government and businesses, the press also plays an essential role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of information related to economic trends, markets and new policies. This enables enterprises to stay informed about opportunities and challenges and make timely strategic decisions. In Dong Nai, the press has become a trusted partner for businesses throughout their development journey while also serving as an “extended arm” of local government in communicating and disseminating regulations, policies and investment promotion strategies.

The manufacturing plant of Vietnam Precision Industrial Joint Stock Company (VPIC), an FDI enterprise, has maintained close coordination with Dong Nai press agencies for corporate communication and promotional activities.

As one of the country’s growth engines and key industrial centers, Dong Nai continues to attract growing interest from domestic and international investors. This places increasing demands on the press to operate in a more professional, humane and modern manner, with businesses and citizens placed at the center of communication efforts. Effective media strategies help build investor confidence and support the attraction of high-quality, technology-driven, less labor-intensive and environmentally-friendly investment projects.

Speaking at a meeting between Party and State leaders and press agencies on June 14 to mark the 101st anniversary of Vietnam’s Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - 2026), National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man called on the press to intensify communication efforts regarding major national development strategies, including recent messages from Party General Secretary and State President To Lam on the country’s development in a new era, which also reflect the Party’s key guidelines. These include the Politburo’s ten strategic pillar resolutions and Vietnam’s two centennial development goals: becoming a developing country with modern industry and upper-middle-income status by 2030, and a developed, high-income nation by 2045.

According to NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man, NA has recently passed numerous important laws and resolutions, while the Government has issued implementing decrees. Ministries and agencies are expected to issue further circulars to ensure these legal documents are effectively translated into practice, helping remove bottlenecks and create more favorable conditions for both citizens and businesses.

Expressing confidence in Vietnam’s press sector, NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man stated that with 101 years of glorious tradition of formation and development and the rich experience accumulated over time, journalists would continue fulfilling their noble mission while preserving the traditional values of “a bright mind, a pure heart, and a sharp pen.”

Serving as soldiers on the ideological and cultural front, journalists are tasked with combating falsehoods, protecting truth and promoting positive values. NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man therefore urged media organizations to continue improving political awareness, professional expertise, ethical standards and social responsibility among journalists and reporters. At the same time, he emphasized the importance of accelerating digital transformation, adopting artificial intelligence technologies, building professional and modern media organizations, safeguarding information sovereignty in cyberspace and promoting the development of digital content industry.
