(ĐN)- A ceremony to mark 58th anniversary of the foundation of the Vietnam Industry and Trade sector was held in Dong Nai on May 14.
Addressing at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Dinh Quoc Thai highly praised management role of industry and trade sector in the past time, particularly in the current difficult economic situation.

Presently, industry, trade and service accounts for nearly 90 percent of the province’s GDP while agriculture makes up over 10%. The province’s export turnover in 2008 reached US$6.84 billion, accounting for 10 percent of total export turnover of the country, ranking third after HCM city and Ha Noi. Dong Nai’s retail sales is estimated at more than VND36 trillion. Its products are exported to 140 countries over the world.
At the ceremony, the sector’s outstanding officials and individuals were awarded certificates of merit.
