(ĐN)- On November 24, US Consul General in HCM City Kenneth Fairfax paid a working visit to Dong Nai province. Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Van Vinh warmly received the Consul General.

At the working session, Mr Vinh briefed the province’s socio- economic development situation in the past time and next plans. Accordingly, the Dong Nai will temporarily ban construction of new industrial parks as part of its efforts to limit pollution. Provincial authorities will instead focus on upgrading infrastructure at IPs to attract domestic and foreign investors. Priority will be given to environmentally friendly hi-tech projects, rural and agricultural development projects. In an effort to ease industrial pollution, local authorities ask all industrial parks and factories to start building waste water treatment systems no later than 2009.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Kenneth Fairfax highly appreciated the province’s socio-economic development plan and hoped that Dong Nai will soon achieve its expected goals.
