(ĐN)- Late last week, Thong Nhat district’s Social Policy Bank held a meeting to review its activities in the four-year period between 2004 and 2007.
The bank reported that it has provided preferential loans worth over VND 46.6 billion over last 4 years. During the period, many poor households and social policy beneficiaries have accessed loans from the Bank to develop production, create employment, increase income and lift themselves out of poverty. More than VND 30 billion have been allocated to poor households, over VND 1.3 billion in loans for clean water projects and over VND 8 billion in loans for creating employment opportunities …. Additionally the Bank has extended preferential loans worth VND 3.8 billion to poor students.
On this occasion, the Thong Nhat district authority awarded certificates of merit to 7 units and 29 individuals for their excellent performance during the past 4 years.
