ĐN)- Inward FDI into Dong Nai province keeps hitting new records, reaching $2 billion in the first five months of 2008, the highest record during the same period since 1998, representing 133 percent of the year’s target, an increase of 6 times over the same period in 2007. Dong Nai is currently home to 928 valid foreign-invested projects with a combined registered capital of over $13.5 billion. About $400 million of foreign investment was disbursed in Dong Nai in January and May. The total implemented capital of FDI projects in the province is approximately $ 6.9 billion, accounting for 50 percent of the total registered capital.

The administration of southern Dong Nai province has approved a project to build the Dau Giay industrial park, making it the 26th of its kind so far in the province. The freshly-approved 330 ha project has brought the total areas marked off for industrial parks in the province to over 7,000 ha. The existing 25 parks have managed to lease out 66 percent of their territory to investors.
