Dong Nai’s trade deficit reaches $700 million in first five months

(ĐN)- In the first five months of this year, Dong Nai’s import values surged by 38 percent, while export turnover increased by only 21 percent, according to Dong Nai Customs Bureau.

(ĐN)- In the first five months of this year, Dong Nai’s import values surged by 38 percent, while export turnover increased by only 21 percent, according to Dong Nai Customs Bureau. Dong Nai’s trade deficit in first five months reached $700 million, accounting for 33 percent of export turnover. The import surge mainly stemmed from a high demand for materials, equipment and machines for production and construction.

 

During the past five months, Dong Nai’s import-export tax collection is estimated to gain more than VND2,156 billion, fulfilling 61 percent of the year’s plan, increasing approximately 72 percent compared to the same period last year.
