VNPT applies 6 second + 1 block charge

The Ministry of Post and Telematics has allowed the Viet Nam Post and Telecommunications Corporation (VNPT), the operator of MobiFone and VinaPhone, to apply a 6 seconds + 1 block charge

The Ministry of Post and Telematics has allowed the Viet Nam Post and Telecommunications Corporation (VNPT), the operator of MobiFone and VinaPhone, to apply a 6 seconds + 1 block charge.

This means that the initial charge will be imposed on the first six seconds of a phone conversation and the subsequent charges will be calculated second-by-second.

According to a decision signed by Deputy Minister Le Nam Thang on May 15, the subscription charges will be between 127,272 VND and 181,818 VND for post-paid GMS subscribers, and 2,000 VND to 2,727 VND per minute for pre-paid clients.

The ministry also regulated mobile phone charge reductions during weekends, holidays and from 11 p.m to 7 a.m in working days.
