The Southeast region is a major growth driver, with a high concentration of industrial, commercial, service, and import-export activities. Development requirements for the 2026–2030 period call for substantial capital resources, along with greater investment efficiency and stronger capital absorption capacity among enterprises.
According to an SBV report, outstanding credit of credit institutions in the Southeast region was estimated at nearly VND6.8 quadrillion as of late September 2026, accounting for approximately 35% of the country's total outstanding credit and representing an increase of more than 10.9% compared with the end of 2025.

Speaking at the conference, SBV Governor Pham Duc An said the SBV had developed dedicated working programs for key economic regions, with the Southeast region identified as its top priority. He noted that the conference was organized to obtain timely assessments of financial resource mobilization in general and regional banking operations in particular, with a view to removing bottlenecks and facilitating capital flows to support regional economic development in accordance with major Party and State guidelines.
In the coming period, the SBV will continue to manage monetary policy flexibly, ensure liquidity throughout the banking system, contribute to macroeconomic stability, and create favorable conditions for credit institutions to support the economy. Given the Southeast region's significant contribution to national growth, due attention should be paid to implementing credit policies in the region. Credit institutions need to develop lending programs with reasonable interest rates while strengthening coordination and engagement with local enterprises and business associations to gain a more accurate understanding of their practical needs.
