Dong Nai to hold its first Culture Week in November

On September 11, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism chaired a working session with relevant departments and agencies on preparations for Dong Nai’s first Culture Week 2026, themed "Vietnamese Soul – Dong Nai Colors – Rising with the Nation."

According to the draft plan, the week is scheduled to take place from November 20 to 26 at the Dong Nai Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center, Tran Bien Temple of Literature, and other cultural institutions in the city. The opening ceremony is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on November 20.

A wide range of cultural spaces and activities will be organized during the week, including "Vietnamese Soul – Dong Nai Colors," which will introduce and honor Vietnamese cultural values; experiences featuring traditional crafts, calligraphy, fine arts, traditional musical instruments, traditional costumes, and folk games; and the "Vietnamese Kitchen – Dong Nai Flavors" space, which will introduce cuisine, OCOP (One Commune, One Product) products, and local specialties.

The "Colors of Culture" art program series will be held daily under various themes. Specifically, the series will include an art program in response to Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day, an international cultural exchange with the Republic of Korea, an ao dai (traditional Vietnamese long dress) performance combined with the promotion of culture and specialty products, and the "Youth Tells Dong Nai Culture Stories" competition. The week is also expected to feature cultural seminars and forums; activities introducing and facilitating exchanges in literature and the arts; and activities honoring outstanding students, among others.

Addressing the session, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Vu Thanh Ngu took note of feedback from departments and agencies and asked them to continue coordinating with the department to finalize the plan before submitting it to the Dong Nai City People's Committee for promulgation. Specifically, the Department of Education and Training is tasked with researching and developing appropriate activities to provide students with opportunities to access and experience cultural values within the framework of the week, in connection with extracurricular educational activities. The Cultural Management Division is tasked with incorporating feedback, adjusting the program appendix, and clearly defining the content and coordination responsibilities of each department and agency.

Regarding the series of daily activities organized around specific themes, leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism asked participating units to proactively develop content appropriate to the overall theme, ensuring diversity, practicality, and appeal. This will create a space for all segments of the population to participate, experience, interact, and enjoy cultural and spiritual activities, thereby contributing to the preservation and promotion of traditional values and to promoting the image, people, and identity of the Dong Nai region.
