Diverse cultural and artistic activities celebrate National Day

Agencies and localities across Dong Nai City are organizing a wide range of large-scale cultural and artistic activities to mark the 81st anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day (September 2).

Artists and performers from the Dong Nai Center for Culture and Cinema perform for the public to celebrate the 81st anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day.

The activities are aimed at creating a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere among people from all walks of life, contributing to education about traditions, fostering national pride, and spreading the aspiration to build a civilized, modern, and happy Dong Nai.

Spreading the spirit of the National Day celebration

In the final days of August, major roads, residential areas, and public spaces across the city are vibrant with flags, flowers, banners, and slogans. Units and localities are actively carrying out visual communication and promotional activities. Notably, the Dong Nai Center for Culture and Cinema has printed and displayed more than 2,000 promotional posters, content flags, Party flags, and national flags; erected billboard clusters and individual billboards; and updated fixed billboards in the wards and communes of Tam Phuoc, Tran Bien, Tan Trieu, Binh Minh, Binh An, Dinh Quan, and others. The center has also decorated specialized vehicles to support mobile communication activities.

Deputy Director of the Dong Nai Center for Culture and Cinema Do Thi Hong said, "The highlight of these activities is the exhibition of paintings and photographs themed “81 Years of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2) – Historical Milestones, Proud Achievements,” held at the center's second facility on Ho Xuan Huong Street, Binh Phuoc Ward, from August 24 to September 21. The exhibition introduces key milestones of the 1945 August Revolution, the event at which President Ho Chi Minh proclaimed the Declaration of Independence on September 2, 1945, and reflects Dong Nai's journey of construction, protection, and development through various eras."

Alongside the exhibition, the Dong Nai Center for Culture and Cinema organized an artistic program titled "The Fatherland – Belief and Aspiration" at Duong Tu Giang Park on the evening of August 28, as well as performances at local facilities. These activities help officials, Party members, and the public, particularly the younger generation, learn more about the nation's historical journey while fostering patriotism, pride, and a sense of responsibility for protecting the Fatherland and building an increasingly prosperous Dong Nai.

The National Day atmosphere is also being spread through activities organized by the Dong Nai Literature and Arts Association. The association has launched creative initiatives for writers and artists in such fields as literature, music, photography, theater, fine arts, and dance, while organizing numerous programs to introduce new works and enrich the cultural and spiritual life of the people.

Permanent Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Literature and Arts Association Pham Van Hoang said, "On this occasion, the association is organizing a series of artistic programs titled “Melodies of the New City” in the communes and wards of Long Khanh, Thong Nhat, and Long Thanh, and hosting an art photography exhibition in Binh Phuoc Ward. Notably, on the evening of September 3, the association will organize an artistic performance themed “Dong Nai – Melodies of Unity, Aspiration for Breakthroughs” at the Dong Nai City Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center in Tan Trieu Ward."

This year, the Dong Nai Art Theater continues to coordinate with communes and wards to stage numerous artistic programs commemorating the 81st anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day (September 2). The programs will also be livestreamed on the theater's Facebook page to serve the public both inside and outside the city. They are expected to offer stirring musical experiences, meeting the cultural enjoyment needs of people from all walks of life.

With this year's National Day holiday being extended, the culture, sports, and tourism sector has stepped up inspections and checks to promptly rectify problems in cultural activities and the provision of cultural, sports, and tourism services at historical sites and destinations, thereby ensuring a joyful and safe holiday for residents and visitors.

Bringing culture and arts to the grassroots

Communes and wards across Dong Nai City, including Tam Hiep, Tran Bien, Long Thanh, Trang Bom, Binh Phuoc, and Phuoc Long, have also proactively developed a range of cultural and sports programs tailored to local conditions to celebrate National Day. Most of the activities are held in public spaces and parks, providing favorable conditions for residents, young people, and families to participate and enjoy the celebratory atmosphere.

Notably, Tam Hiep Ward is organizing a series of activities at Duong Tu Giang Park from August 28 to September 3. The series began with an opening program titled "Prosperous Vietnam – Shining Future" on the evening of August 28, followed by the "Dance of Connection" folk dance on the evening of August 29, the "United by Passion" modern dance performance on the evening of August 30, and the epic artistic program "Dong Nai – Southern Spirit, Rising with the Nation" on the evening of August 31. On the evening of September 2, residents and visitors will enjoy the "Proud of My Fatherland" artistic program, combined with an artistic pyrotechnic display.

Currently, the seven film screening teams of the Dong Nai Center for Culture and Cinema are continuing to organize mobile film screenings for people in remote and border areas, ethnic minority communities, and workers in industrial zones. From August 28 to 30, the teams screened films in the communes of Thong Nhat, Dinh Quan, Xuan Phu, Xuan Dong, and Phu Rieng, as well as the wards of Long Binh and Binh Phuoc. The screened films include Ky uc Nam Xuan (Nam Xuan Memories), Vo sinh dai chien (Martial Arts Prodigy), Nu do vat (The Female Wrestler), Nhiem vu sao hoa (Mars Mission), Nu hoang Padmaavat (Queen Padmaavat), Tac ke pha an (Gecko Detective), and Sac mau cua nui (Colors of the Mountains).

Head of the Cinema Department at the Dong Nai Center for Culture and Cinema Nguyen Tien Dung said, "In addition to film screenings, the teams also integrate communication on gender equality, domestic violence prevention, legal education, traffic safety, prevention of social vices, and food safety. In August 2026, the teams conducted 140 film screenings and integrated communication sessions, attracting more than 12,000 viewers."

The diverse cultural and artistic activities are helping bring the National Day atmosphere closer to the people, thereby fostering pride, a spirit of unity, and the aspiration to build an increasingly civilized and prosperous Dong Nai.
