In response to the special 500-day-and-night emulation campaign themed “Unity – Discipline – Efficiency – Breakthrough, building a civilized and modern Dong Nai,” the Dong Nai culture, sports and tourism sector has carried out a wide range of practical tasks at the grassroots level to improve the cultural and spiritual life of the people.

From preserving and promoting heritage values to developing sports, tourism, and culture, the emulation campaign has been translated into concrete actions, creating momentum for the entire sector to fulfill its tasks and contributing to building a Dong Nai culture rich in identity, integration, and development.

Turning emulation campaign into concrete action

In Bu Gia Map commune, the special 500-day-and-night emulation campaign has been translated into tasks associated with building a grassroots cultural life. Despite numerous challenges, the locality has focused on creating more opportunities for residents, especially ethnic minorities, to access cultural and educational activities, while gradually leveraging traditional cultural values to serve tourism development.

Vu Van Ket, Deputy Head of the Culture and Social Affairs Division of Bu Gia Map Commune, said Bu Gia Map has a large population of ethnic minorities, primarily the S’tieng and M'nong people. Recently, the commune has actively participated in city-level competitions and digitized school libraries to expand students' access to learning materials. It has also regularly organized folk cultural and artistic activities, including establishing the M'nong Folk Culture and Art Club. These activities are linked to community-based tourism development, gradually integrating culture into local tourism product offerings.

“From now until the end of 2026, Bu Gia Map Commune will continue to maintain cultural and artistic activities, focus on preserving heritage values, implement the “Digital Literacy for All” movement, and follow the 100-day peak plan to promote the village/hamlet/neighborhood management platform (DC4.0). At the same time, we will organize the assessment and recognition of “Cultural Family” and “Cultural Hamlet” titles. We have determined that emulation movements must be translated into practical tasks suited to local conditions so that residents can participate in and benefit from them,” said Ket.

At the Dong Nai Library, the special emulation campaign has been translated into efforts to improve the efficiency of reader services and accelerate digital transformation. The unit has digitized 23,225 of the 27,000 pages of documents in its local history collection, organized mobile libraries to visit nearly 60 locations, served more than 348,000 users, and provided readers with more than 1.1 million information resources. Hundreds of books have also been distributed to grassroots bookshelves in communes and wards across the city, helping expand public access to books, newspapers, and materials.

Vo Xuan Le, Deputy Director of the Dong Nai Library, said, “From now until the end of 2026, the unit will step up information and propaganda efforts, focusing on expanding mobile service activities, especially in schools and areas with high demand for reading. Within the framework of the 2026 Lifelong Learning Week, the mobile library will continue to visit schools in Bien Hoa, Tran Bien and Tam Hiep wards, as well as communes and wards in northern Dong Nai. This contributes to fostering regular reading and learning habits within the community.”

Creating changes in every field

According to People's Artist Giang Manh Ha, Chairman of the Dong Nai Literature and Arts Association, in response to the special 500-day-and-night emulation campaign, the association has focused on improving the quality of creative work and creating conditions for artists and writers to remain closely connected to the realities of life. Creative camps, field trips, seminars, training sessions, workshops, competitions, and literature and arts exchanges are organized regularly, enabling artists and writers to create more works reflecting the lives of Dong Nai's people and the city's development in its new context.

“One of the tasks the association focuses on is identifying and nurturing young creative talent, creating an environment for young authors to interact, learn, and gradually affirm their creative capabilities. Alongside these efforts, the association focuses on introducing and promoting high-quality works through the press, radio, television, digital platforms, and literature and arts publications, contributing to the promotion of cultural values, the enrichment of spiritual life, and the promotion of Dong Nai's image,” said People's Artist Giang Manh Ha.

By closely aligning its activities with local political tasks, the Dong Nai culture, sports, and tourism sector has recorded many impressive results across various fields.

In response to the special 500-day-and-night emulation campaign themed “Unity – Discipline – Efficiency – Breakthrough, building a civilized and modern Dong Nai,” the culture, sports, and tourism sector has set a goal of having at least 20% of its officials, civil servants, and public employees propose initiatives, solutions, or new methods that are effectively applied in practice.

The preservation and promotion of heritage values in Dong Nai are being prioritized, with many monument restoration and embellishment projects being implemented in Thuan Loi Commune and Phuoc Long Ward, along with the urgent repair project at the Suoi Linh Tunnel relic in Tri An Ward.

To ensure the plan in response to the special 500-day-and-night emulation campaign is implemented synchronously and effectively, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism requires 100% of its specialized divisions and affiliated units to develop implementation plans based on the “6-clear” principle: clear people, clear tasks, clear timelines, clear responsibilities, clear authorities, and clear results. Heads of departments and units must sign commitments to fulfilling their responsibilities for organizing and implementing the campaign. At the same time, they must proactively review key tasks, bottlenecks, and obstacles and focus on resolving them.
