Site clearance is moving closer to the "finish line," creating a crucial condition for accelerating the construction of the Cai River riverside road project in the coming period.

Construction presses ahead to complete sections early

The Cai River riverside road project, covering the section from Ha Huy Giap Street to Tran Quoc Toan Street, is one of Dong Nai City's key projects and is being implemented in Tran Bien and Tam Hiep wards.

The approximately 4.6-kilometer road not only serves as an important traffic connection but also opens up space for riverside urban development. It is expected to promote commercial, service, and tourism activities, improve residents' quality of life, and enhance the city center's urban appearance.

The project officially launched in early February 2026, but site clearance issues delayed its construction by about two months. Since the beginning of May 2026, construction has accelerated as additional land has been handed over.

Do Bao Nam, Deputy Director of the Dong Nai City Construction Investment Project Management Board, said that the site handover has not yet been completed. However, in the areas already transferred, the contractor has mobilized machinery to construct the road's drainage system.

According to Nam, the construction of the drainage system for the road section takes longer than other components. Once it is basically completed, the contractor will proceed with sand filling for site preparation and the construction of the stone base before moving on to asphalt concrete paving. "Currently, the contractor adjusts construction activities according to the site handed over in each area. Areas with larger available sites receive priority, along with additional workers and machinery," said Do Bao Nam.

Regarding the five bridges along the route, which began construction earlier, the Dong Nai City Construction Investment Project Management Board reported that the construction unit has basically completed girder installation and bridge deck slab pouring. "For the road section, according to the signed contract, completion is scheduled for the end of February 2027. However, the investor and contractor are pursuing rolling construction, and any area handed over early will be completed before December 31, 2027," added Do Bao Nam.

Full site clearance expected in June 2026

To carry out the Cai River riverside road project, nearly 15 hectares of land must be acquired in Tran Bien and Tam Hiep wards.

As of late May 2025, the nearly 5-hectare area in Tam Hiep ward had been fully handed over to the construction unit. Meanwhile, in Tran Bien ward, more than 80% of the over 9 hectares required had been transferred.

Over the past few days, relevant agencies and the Tran Bien ward People's Committee have accelerated efforts to complete the full site handover for the project. In particular, obstacles related to land origin verification involving the Go Me Agricultural Service Cooperative within the project area have been resolved.

The Cai River riverside road begins at the intersection with Ha Huy Giap Street and ends at the intersection with Tran Quoc Toan Street. The road has a total cross-section of 32 meters, including a 16-meter carriageway. Total investment in the project is nearly 574 billion VND.

Pham Duc Hoang, Vice Chairman of the Tran Bien ward People's Committee, said that alongside expediting compensation and site clearance procedures, the local administration and relevant agencies have strengthened communication and mobilization efforts to encourage households to hand over land for the project.

"Currently, seven cases within the project area have not yet handed over their land. After completing the procedures and continuing mobilization efforts, if they still fail to hand over the land, the local administration and relevant agencies will proceed with enforcement. The entire site handover for the project will be completed in June 2026," said Pham Duc Hoang.
