On June 10, the Ministry of Science and Technology (S&T) and the Dong Nai City People's Committee held a conference to sign a coordination plan to assist wholesale and retail stores and business households in digital transformation in Dong Nai City.

Alternate member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of S&T Bui Hoang Phuong; Member of the City Party Committee’s Standing Board and Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai City People's Committee Le Truong Son; representatives of relevant units under the Ministry of S&T and the Ministry of Industry and Trade; and leaders of departments and agencies in Dong Nai City attended the conference.
The conference was held in person at the City People's Committee and connected online with 95 communes and wards citywide.

At the conference, leaders of the Department of Economy and Digital Society under the Ministry of S&T presented the coordination plan for piloting support for wholesale and retail stores and business households in digital transformation in Dong Nai City; tools for surveying and assessing the digital transformation level of business households; and content related to the development of the low-altitude spatial economy using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the locality.

In addition, a representative of the Vietnam E-commerce and Digital Economy Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade presented a program to support business households and enterprises in adopting e-commerce and promoting transactions on digital platforms in 2026, as well as orientations for coordination with Dong Nai City.
Leaders of the Dong Nai Department of S&T then outlined the coordination plan signed between the Ministry of S&T and the Dong Nai City People's Committee to support wholesale and retail stores and business households in digital transformation in Dong Nai City. Accordingly, the coordination plan focuses on implementing key support areas, including surveying and assessing "digital health"; providing in-depth consultation; offering digital skills training; providing free support for infrastructure and management tools; supplying business websites; guiding business activities on e-commerce platforms; and connecting businesses with markets.

The coordination campaign will be piloted in 2026 over a 180-day period and is clearly structured into five specific phases. Accordingly, June 2026 is the preparation phase; July 2026 will be the first implementation phase; August 2026 will be the preliminary review phase for the first phase; the period from July to October 2026 will be the acceleration phase; and November and December 2026 will be the summary phase of the coordination program.

Speaking at the conference, Member of the City Party Committee’s Standing Board and Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai City People's Committee Le Truong Son said that to ensure the effectiveness of the coordination program, departments, agencies, relevant units, and localities across the city must implement the plan in a coordinated, practical, and effective manner, taking business households as the focal point and practical results as the measure of effectiveness. At the same time, it is necessary to promote the pioneering role of community digital technology groups and local mass organizations in coordinating with digital technology enterprises and relevant units to implement the program effectively.

In this process, the Department of S&T serves as the standing agency, advising the City People's Committee on implementation solutions and organizing, coordinating, and closely monitoring the progress of the plan to ensure effectiveness, practicality, and tangible results.

Delivering directions at the conference, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of S&T Bui Hoang Phuong requested that the Dong Nai City People's Committee, departments, agencies, local authorities, and partner units and enterprises focus on effectively implementing key tasks to ensure that the plan is carried out in a practical and effective manner, on schedule, and achieves its objectives.
Specifically, the implementation of this coordination program must ensure clear assignment of personnel, tasks, timelines, responsibilities, and results; concretize tasks for each department, agency, enterprise, commune, and ward; and promote the role of local authorities, community digital technology groups, industry associations, and direct support forces in the locality.
