In parallel, many retailers and supermarkets in Dong Nai City have proactively launched promotional programs to boost the consumption of local agricultural products.
Responding to the Vietnamese Goods Week program
According to the Dong Nai Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion, the 2026 Vietnamese Goods Week program is being held in Dong Nai from May 25 to May 31. Businesses, shopping centers, supermarkets, and convenience stores are participating in various promotional and discount programs for Vietnamese goods, including a wide range of agricultural products and OCOP (One Commune One Product) items, with the aim of encouraging consumers to purchase and gain greater awareness of local products.
Nguyen Van Linh, Deputy Director of the Dong Nai Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion, said the 2026 Vietnamese Goods Week program aims to continue the effective implementation of the campaign “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods,” thereby contributing to the development of a domestic consumption culture. At the same time, the program is expected to create a vibrant shopping atmosphere, promote the circulation of goods, and support local businesses in expanding production and operations.
In particular, the program also encourages consumers to explore and purchase more goods and services produced by domestic enterprises through promotional activities widely implemented at sales points across the city, especially OCOP products and high-quality Vietnamese goods.
Do Doan Thanh, Head of Marketing Department at Co.opmart Dong Xoai in Binh Phuoc ward, said that at the beginning of the summer season, the supermarket has organized various regional agricultural product festivals to support the consumption of Vietnamese goods, promote OCOP products, and enhance customers’ shopping experience. These activities promote regional agricultural products, spread the value of Vietnamese cuisine, and bring local specialties closer to consumers.
A range of activities to promote brands and honor agricultural products, regional specialties, and key local products have also been held in Dong Nai. A highlight was the 2026 Dong Nai City Golden Cashew Festival, held from May 22 to 24, which drew more than 20,000 visitors to tour, experience, and shop for local agricultural products and specialties.
Connecting consumption of specialty fruits
One of the large-scale annual programs aimed at promoting and enhancing the value of Southern specialty fruits is the Southern Fruit Festival, which will be held for the 22nd time this year. Under the theme “Sounds of the Alluvium – Flow of Origins – Continuing Culture,” this year’s festival features many new highlights and will take place from May 31 to August 30.
According to the organizer, Suoi Tien Cultural Tourism Joint Stock Company, the 2026 Southern Fruit Festival features a series of prominent activities. Among them is the specialty fruit market themed “Sounds of the Sweet Fruit Season,” which brings together hundreds of varieties of high-quality fruits and agricultural products from many regions nationwide, offering visitors an engaging journey to explore the flavors and richness of the fruit harvest season. The fruit market also offers visitors opportunities to connect with farmers through experiences of agricultural life at Suoi Tien Farm, including fruit picking in orchards, cycling tours around the farm, and learning about high-tech agricultural production models. Notably, a highlight of this year’s festival is the giant fruit sculpture titled “Sounds of the Alluvium,” a central art installation inspired by the fertile alluvial lands of southern Vietnam.

In Dong Nai, many supermarkets and convenience store chains have implemented various activities to promote and support the consumption of local agricultural products and specialty summer fruits. Promoting the sale of local agricultural products and domestic fruits not only provides consumers with fresh, nutritious products but also supports Vietnamese agriculture and helps expand market access for domestic farmers.
Trang Phuc, a representative of the Marketing Division at Co.opmart Bien Hoa in Tam Hiep ward, said that summer is the peak season for fresh fruit consumption. Accordingly, fruit consumption at the supermarket has increased by about 15 percent since the beginning of May, compared to the same period last year, and by 27 percent compared to the previous month. To meet rising consumption demand during the summer of 2026, Co.opmart Bien Hoa will introduce a program featuring a wide variety of specialty fruits with abundant supply, guaranteed quality, and stable prices to better serve consumers.
The supermarket is also implementing various promotional programs and attractive discounts to boost consumer demand, helping consumers gain easier access to quality fruit products at reasonable prices. Currently, several fruits, including durian, dragon fruit, lychee, and watermelon, are being offered at discounts of up to 30 percent.
