Phuoc An Port welcomes over 2,000 international cruise passengers

The international cruise ship Carnival Luminosa, operated by Carnival Australia, docked at Phuoc An Port in Phuoc An commune on the morning of October 21, bringing more than 2,000 international passengers ashore for excursions to historical and cultural sites, scenic attractions and beaches in Ho Chi Minh City.

The Carnival Luminosa arrived at Phuoc An Port after sailing from Hong Kong (China). The ship can accommodate around 3,000 people, including more than 900 crew members. After completing immigration procedures, passengers set off on organized shore excursions and were due to return to the ship that afternoon before it continued its voyage to Singapore.

In February 2026, Dong Nai welcomed around 1,000 cruise passengers at Phuoc An Port, marking Dong Nai's first international cruise ship call and opening up new opportunities for cruise tourism development. Dong Nai’s tourism sector has been working with cruise operators to assess attractions near Phuoc An Port and develop shore excursions that cater to passengers’ interests in sightseeing, local experiences and shopping during port calls.
