A weekend journey back to the roots and an exploration of heritage in Bu Dang Commune can begin with landmarks associated with culture and history, as well as spaces that preserve the cultural imprints of the S’tieng community. Each destination tells its own story, contributing to the cultural identity of the northern part of the city.

Thac Dung scenic spot is an attractive destination for locals and tourists in Bu Dang Commune.

One of the most attractive destinations in Bu Dang Commune is Thac Dung (Standing Waterfall). Formed by the Dak Quotte stream, the waterfall is about 16–18 m wide, with its bed measuring about 15 m across, and lies hidden amid patches of forest. Its most striking feature is the large rock formations with distinctive shapes.

Along both sides of the waterfall, naturally connected hexagonal and rectangular rock columns stand upright, forming fascinating rock faces. Many of the rock formations evoke images of flowers or the shell of a large turtle. At the foot of the waterfall are numerous large rocks, some perfectly square and flat like natural tables.

In addition to its scenic value, the site is also associated with the unique cultural values of the S’tieng people in Bu Dang, adding greater depth to the visitor experience. In recognition of its cultural, historical and scenic values, Thac Dung was designated a provincial-level scenic site in 2013.

Continuing their journey, visitors can stop at Chi Khu Hill and the final section of the Ho Chi Minh Trail in Bu Dang to learn about historical relics and hear stories about the land and its people. The two historical sites are included in the inventory and have been assigned by the Dong Nai City People’s Committee to Bu Dang Commune for management, preservation and promotion of their value, thereby enriching the heritage experience in Dong Nai City.
