To effectively tap into its historical and cultural potential and values, the Tri An Ward People’s Committee has stepped up the organization of cultural and sporting activities while promoting the locality’s image.
The successful hosting of the 2025 National Sailing Championship and the 21st Return to the War Zone Traditional Cycling Race in 2026 demonstrated that the locality is fully capable of hosting large-scale sporting events. In particular, the 40-kilometer cycling route through the former war zone, lined with bougainvillea in a variety of vibrant colors, left a strong impression on participating athletes and visitors.
Tri An Ward has particular advantages in terms of its waterscape, including Tri An Lake, as well as historical and archaeological sites such as the Southeast Regional Party Committee Base, Suoi Linh Tunnels, Doi Phong Khong archaeological site, Suoi Linh archaeological site and the Southeast Security Department Base. These assets provide favorable conditions for the locality to develop sporting tourism products combined with heritage, historical and ecological tourism.
Building on these strengths, the Tri An Ward People’s Committee has proposed developing a series of tourism products linked to sporting events, including a Tri An Lake sports tourism package and a Return to the War Zone cycling tourism package. Linking sporting competitions into an annual series would help establish a distinctive brand and turn Tri An into an attractive destination for sports, ecological and heritage tourism in Dong Nai.
